Government officials are once again sending free Covid tests through the United States Postal Service. The program's relaunch comes as COVID hospitalizations have continued to rise, passing 20,000 for the first time since March this month, according to data from the CDC.
With one of the largest expanses of greenspace in Montgomery County, Montgomery Village is home to not only a diverse population of human residents, but also diverse wildlife and plant and animal habitats. Montgomery County Ride On Buses, including Ride On ExtRa, Ride On Flex and Flash buses, are free for county residents aged 5 to 18 (or older if still enrolled in high school). The Youth Cruiser SmarTrip® card provides free rides throughout the year and replaces the need to use school IDs on the bus. The card also waives fares on most Metro buses that operate around the county.
Books have become a little more accessible in Montgomery Village. On Tuesday, August 22, Girl Scout Troop #5121 installed a Little Free Library near the notice boards outside of the main entrance at Lake Marion Community Center.
